Book Blogger Hop!!

It's been a long time since I've done one of these. But this week's question was intriguing. Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books hosts the Book Blogger Hop every Friday, giving following bloggers a chance to interact. This week's question is: How many books do you own? This can include books in your TBR pile and books you have already read that are on your keeper shelf?

Wow!! That is a great question because I have no idea the exact number. I did take stock of what is in my room and it gave me some pause. I have one small bookcase, and it is overflowing top to bottom. I also have books in several storage bins. My closet is full of books from the last two years of BEA. My dresser's are piled high with books. And the futon in my room has about 25-30 books stacked on one side. If I had to put a number on it I would say approximately 600-800 books and counting. And that is just physical books, I almost forgot about my Kindle. But my e-book total (60) pales in comparison to the amount of physical books I have. When the time comes for me to move, I don't see myself parting with a lot of them. I know my fellow book lovers will understand on this one!! Years from now, it will take a special guy to put up with my book habit.

  1. I've moved a few times with all my books...the boxes are heavy, no doubt, but my husband doesn't even suggest that we part with some of them. He knows better than that :) I completely forgot to include my Kindle, Nook and other ebooks in my post :)

  2. I'm having my room redecorated at the moment, just in my bedroom I had over 6 boxes of books, that's not counting half the bookcase in the hall outside my room, or the other books I have littered around the house, or the books on my kindle, I really could not tell you how many. I'm getting a new bookcase as part of my re-decoration though, and it will be taller...I am possibly to excited

  3. I wish I had a bigger bookcase, but my room at the moment is angled. So no tall bookcases at the moment. Thanks for the comments!!

  4. You must have a really spacious room to house all those books! Yeah, I've changed my reading device once and I was so devastated to realise my previous collections were gone!

Haha, I'm now a proud new follower of your blog, do drop by mine @ http://bookaworld.wordpress.com/ too!

  5. Lovely post and I am following you. I have not moved anywhere yet but I do get a few books a year and several for my birthday and Christmas. Books I get are new to me and I got them around my room at the moment. My mom as a few but not as many though I say we get a lot though the library or I get a few though a family member. Otherwise I get them though Friends or buying them later if want them.
    I will be around.

  6. Everyone thought I should part with books the last time I moved (I think I parted with about 10)... but I am NOT looking forward to moving those books again in a month when our house closes... I doubt I will get rid of any this time around, but books are damn heavy to transport!!

    My hop post
